SLRMUN 21Events 2021-22ponder into MUN through a series of webinars
Colloquy
Colloquy was a webinar series that introduced novices into Model United Nations. The event addressed and discussed the benefits of MUN and how an individual could utilize these experiences for their personal development and growth. A one of a kind experience was offered to the participants where they were more enlightened on all the prospects they can conceive through the participation with MUN of Rotaract Mora. The session was open to the public and the seats were reserved on a first come first serve basis. The series consisted of three sessions.
Session 1
The first session addressed the following key points:
- Personal life achievements through the experience of MUN
- Benefits of gaining vast background knowledge about the international community context and diplomacy
- How MUN will improve verbal adroitness and communication skills
- How MUN can be an open platform to make good social networking through new acquaintances
- How MUN can be a chance to have some fun while engaging in personal development

- How UN Policy Making is done
- How to implement a formed resolution after a MUN Conference

- Employment opportunities that will be presented to you through MUN

case study competition on global issues
Covenant
Covenant was a case study competition that focused on global issues. It was open only to the undergraduates of the University of Moratuwa. The basic objective of the competition was to develop the research and reporting skills of the participants and give the novices a taste of model united nations.

Although the project had rather primitive objectives, this project was the inspiration for Covenant 2021-22 which was a highly impactful project
first-ever MUN conference hosted by a Sri Lankan university
Conference RMMUN
Rotaract Mora Model United Nations conference was the first ever United Nations simulation within the University of Moratuwa. It was held on 3rd of January 2021 via the web conferencing platform Zoom. The conference was only open to the undergraduates of University of Moratuwa. The conference was held under three committees. The Honorary Secretary-General for the RMMUN conference was Ms. Chiranthi Senanayake.
